Which devices run the Avatour app for real-time 360° capture?

The Avatour Host app works with several different mobile devices and 360° cameras to enable real-time remote presence. Reference below to see which devices are compatible.

Android mobile devices + Insta360 action cameras

Avatour can run on most modern mid-to-high-end Android mobile devices running Android 10 or later, with Snapdragon 840 or equivalent chipsets. The Avatour Host app for Android can be downloaded from the Google Play Store.

For real-time 360° capture, you need a compatible Insta360 action camera along with a cable connection. Compatible cameras include the One X, One X2, One R, and One RS. Note that the Insta360 Pro series cameras are not directly compatible with Avatour for real-time capture.

Caution: Insta360 uses a non-standard specification for the cable connection between their cameras and mobile devices. As a result, only Insta360-branded cables can be used. These may be ordered from Avatour, direct from Insta360 or from Amazon - but watch out for counterfeits if not buying direct from Insta360!

The following Android devices have been tested and are confirmed compatible:

Samsung Phones S20 / S20 Ultra / Z Fold 2 / S20FE / A71 5G / S21 /S22 / S22+

iOS devices + compatible Insta360 action cameras (select models only)

The Avatour Host App for iOS can be downloaded from the Apple App Store. It's compatible with iPhone and iPad models launched after March 2018 and running iOS 11 or higher.

However, only certain models of Insta360 cameras support the wired connection required for real-time 360° capture. The compatible cameras include:

  • All Insta360 One X and One X Enterprise Edition cameras
  • Insta360 One X2 cameras sold as part of the "Apple Bundle" at an Apple Store
  • Insta360 One R cameras sold as part of the "Apple Bundle" at an Apple Store

Caution: One X2 or One R cameras not sold as part of an "Apple Bundle" will not have iOS compatibility and cannot be used for real-time 360° capture with Avatour's iOS app.
